What is Tae Bo?

Tae Bo, a unique fitness system, was created in 1975 by Billy Blanks, the seven times world champion of martial-arts, and since 1990s has obtained wide popularity around the world. The name, Tae Bo, is a combination words "tae" that means "leg" and it relates to the kicks and "bo" that originates from boxing and.

Tae Bo is based on elements of Tae Kwon Do, kickboxing and dance. A one-hour session includes a series of steps, punches and kicks and is composed in eight-count combinations. The program uses the movements of martial arts combined with aerobics accompanied by rapid music tunes to strengthen all muscles of the body.

Although the Tae Bo uses same punches and kicks as karate, it doesn’t teach any fighting techniques but focuses to develop cardiovascular fitness, stamina and flexibility. The cardiovascular strengthen is an effect of the dance movements included to the high-energy routine. Tae Bo is also beneficial in escaping osteoporosis due to enhancing the mineral acquisition.

The Tae Kwon Do elements promote awareness, self-confidence, and acquaintance with martial arts. Tae Bo also develops the soul, mind and body as it teaches mental acuity and physical accuracy and coordination. Thus, the system helps users to gain the skill and confidence to stick with any possible trouble.

But more than fat-burning exercises Tae Bo offers training for the whole body. However, if you intend to do Tae bo, you have to be aware that it is a tough practice which requires plenty energy and will effect every part of body. So don't be upset if you get exhausted and feel very stiff at first due to you have overstrained muscles you didn't know about. A sauna or steam bath can assist you relax.

It is recommended for beginners to start slow and do exercise at their own rate. You shouldn't be in pain. If you feel out of breath and can’t perform any position, then you shouldn’t do it.

Tae Bo is for everyone who wishes a complete workout. The goal of Tae Bo is to get the benefit by including the whole body into the workout. To gain maximum benefit, you should practice the Tae Bo at least three times a week.
